Our mission

At Emmy Lights the Way, our mission is deeply personal. We exist to close the gap between need and access by providing children with physical disabilities the vital adaptive equipment that insurance may not cover.

ELW is a mission born from love, frustration, and hope. It's fueled by our unwavering belief that every child deserves the tools to fully participate in their world without facing even more barriers just to get there.

So often, equipment like adaptive strollers, adaptive bikes, activity chairs are denied or only partially covered, leaving families with tough choices. Emmy Lights the Way is here to change that—one child, one piece of equipment, one family, one story at a time.

Because at the end of the day, this isn't just about equipment. It's about giving children the freedom to grow, play, explore, and most importantly, simply be kids.

How we make a difference

Our mission rests on three foundational pillars that guide everything we do for children with physical disabilities and their families.

A crowd gathers outdoors near a wooden fence for a performance, with some people taking photos or videos. A performer is elevated on a treehouse-like platform, playing a musical instrument, while string lights decorate the area. Trees, houses, and an American flag are visible in the background on a clear day.

Awareness

We shine a light on the experiences of children with physical disabilities, sharing their stories and needs to help communities better understand accessibility and celebrate every child’s journey.

Inclusion

We highlight the importance of true inclusion for children with physical disabilities.

Support for communities

We provide adaptive equipment, practical resources, and emotional support to families. Our goal is to empower parents, caregivers, and communities as they navigate accessibility and advocacy together.
